Practise identifying contact forces in motion problems, so you can decide when they balance, oppose motion, or set a maximum speed.
How this is tested
- set drag equal to thrust in an equation to justify maximum speed when the resultant force is zero
- use weight and drag on a free-body diagram to decide the resultant direction before applying F = ma
