Practise calculating the force, acceleration and path of charged particles between plates, including travel time and distance parallel to plates.
How this is tested
- use E = V/d and F = qE to calculate force and acceleration, then give direction from the plate diagram
- use a kinematics equation with constant horizontal velocity to find time or distance along the plates
- compare particles with a = qE/m to justify different accelerations from charge and mass values
