How this is tested
- determine g from the gradient of a V–r graph, often by drawing a tangent and calculating ΔV/Δr
- estimate average field strength from a potential difference and separation between two orbital positions
- use equipotential spacing or a zero-gradient point to infer field strength magnitude and direction
