IB Chemistry HL 2.1.1 Chemical equations

IB Chemistry syllabusFirst assessment 2025
Practise writing balanced equations with correct formulas and state symbols, and deducing missing products or coefficients from the reaction details given.
How this is tested
- write balanced equations with state symbols for reactions such as CaCO3(s) + 2HCl(aq) → CaCl2(aq) + CO2(g) + H2O(l)
- deduce a missing product and balance the full equation, for example 2NO(g) + 2CO(g) → 2CO2(g) + N2(g)
- balance coefficient questions from reagent and product formulas, including Cu + 4HNO3 → Cu(NO3)2 + 2NO2 + 2H2O
