IB Physics SL B.5.4 Ohmic behaviour

IB Physics syllabusFirst assessment 2025
Practise deciding from circuit evidence or V-I graphs whether a component is ohmic, using Ohm’s law and whether resistance stays constant.
How this is tested
- explain from a V-I graph why a straight line through the origin shows an ohmic component
- distinguish non-ohmic behaviour by linking a curved graph or rising current to changing resistance
- state Ohm’s law with the condition that temperature or other physical conditions remain constant
