Part 2 Electric current and resistance
The graph below shows how the current I in a tungsten filament lamp varies with potential difference V across the lamp.

The length of the filament in a lamp is 0.40 m . The resistivity of tungsten when the potential difference across it is 2.8 V is 5.8×10−7Ω m. Calculate the radius of the filament.
A = rho l / R = (5.8 x 10^-7 x 0.40)/8.5 = 2.7 x 10^-8; (accept answers in range 2.6 to 2.8 x 10^-8)
r = sqrt(A/pi) seen/used;
= 9.3 x 10^-5 m; (accept answers in range 9.2 to 9.5 x 10^-5)
