Practise momentum-conservation questions where an object breaks apart, linking zero or initial momentum to the speeds of the fragments.
How this is tested
- apply momentum conservation to fragments after an explosion, using opposite signs for velocities in one dimension
- calculate one fragment speed from the other when the object starts at rest and total momentum is zero
