Practise calculating weight in different gravitational fields, resolving its components on slopes and representing it correctly on force diagrams.
How this is tested
- calculate weight near a planet or asteroid using local g, rather than assuming the Earth value 9.81 N kg^-1
- resolve weight into a component down a slope using mg sin θ when analysing motion on an incline
- draw the weight vector vertically downward with an appropriate length on a force diagram or free-body sketch
