IB Physics syllabusFirst assessment 2025
Practise superposition by adding amplitudes from graphs or diagrams, then linking the result to intensity, interference patterns, and standing waves.
How this is tested
- add wave amplitudes from a graph first, then use I proportional to A^2 to justify intensities such as 4I0
- use a standing-wave or interference diagram to identify nodes, antinodes, maxima and minima
- estimate the resultant amplitude from a displacement graph or vector geometry, not by adding intensities
