Practise using field-line density to judge where the electric field is strongest and linking line direction to the force on a positive or negative charge.
How this is tested
- interpret a field-line sketch to decide where E is greatest by comparing how closely packed the lines are
- apply line direction with charge sign to predict the force direction on a negative ion placed at a point
