B.3.1—Pressure Topic Practice

IB Physics syllabusPhysics SL/HLFirst assessment 2025
Practise pressure calculations in gases and fluids by turning area, force and depth information into clear working and physical explanations.
How this is tested
- use `p=F/A` or `F=Ap` to calculate force from a stated pressure difference and surface area
- explain buoyancy with a pressure difference on top and bottom faces, then use force = pressure x area
- derive `p=rhogh` by taking the fluid weight above an area and dividing by that cross-sectional area
