Practise greenhouse-model questions by matching molecular vibration frequencies to terrestrial infrared and judging which radiation is absorbed.
How this is tested
- use f = 1/T for a molecular vibration period, then compare that frequency with solar and terrestrial infrared
- state the model assumption that greenhouse gases absorb outgoing terrestrial infrared at resonant frequencies
- choose the correct diagram by checking that the radiation absorbed is Earth's outgoing infrared, not sunlight
