B.5.3—Resistance Topic Practice

IB Physics syllabusPhysics SL/HLFirst assessment 2025
Strengthen resistance work by calculating from current and potential difference, checking derived units, and using ideal meter assumptions correctly.
How this is tested
- calculate resistance from circuit values with R = V/I and give the answer in ohms from the stated units
- use unit algebra to identify an equivalent resistance unit such as W A^-2 or V A^-1
- use circuit diagrams: ideal voltmeters have infinite resistance; ideal ammeters have zero resistance
