A.1.6—Uniform acceleration equations Topic Practice

IB Physics syllabusPhysics SL/HLFirst assessment 2025
Select and rearrange constant-acceleration equations efficiently to solve straight-line, stopping and vertical motion problems.
How this is tested
- choose a SUVAT equation that matches the known variables, then solve for time, speed or acceleration with units
- use v^2 = u^2 + 2as to compare speeds at two positions without first finding the acceleration
- check the final value with the unit implied by the equation, such as s for time or m s^-2 for acceleration
