Practise using P = E/t or P = W/t to find power, time, energy or mass flow, with careful conversions between hours, kW and J.
Energy is transferred from the Sun to the Earth.
Solar panels use energy from the Sun to heat water.

The total area of the solar panels is 15 m2.
Each 1.0 m2 of the solar panels receives 1000 J of energy per second from the Sun. Show that the total energy transferred to the solar panels in 2 hours is about 100 MJ .
- evaluation of total power / conversion of hours to seconds
- evaluation of energy in J
- evaluation of energy in MJ
Example:
- power = 1000 x 15 = 15000 W
- time = 2 x 60 x 60 = 7200 s
- energy = 15000 x 7200 = 108000000 J
- energy = 108 MJ
