Practise recognising lamp and LED symbols and deciding how these components show that current is present in a circuit.
Diagram 1 shows an electric circuit used to test a fuse.
d.c. power supply

Diagram 1
Give a reason why an LED is included in the circuit.
idea that LED shows that current is present / fuse is still working;
allow idea that it shows when the fuse has
blown
Diagram 2 shows a different electric circuit containing three different lamps.

Diagram 2
Explain which lamp is the brightest.
lamp 3
Any two from:
- power = current x voltage
- voltage is the same for all lamps
- current is greatest
Accept:
- ECF from 7(c)(i) if I1 is given as greater than 0.3 A, leading to lamp 2 being brightest
- P = V^2 / R
- resistance is lowest
