Practise HR-diagram questions by labelling axes, placing stellar groups and using plotted positions to compare brightness and temperature.
This question is about stars.
The evolution of stars can be shown on a Hertzsprung-Russell diagram (HR diagram).
Complete the HR diagram by
- labelling the x-axis
- completing the absolute magnitude scale
- drawing the main sequence, red giant and white dwarf regions

- correct absolute magnitude scale
- x-axis labelled colour
- main sequence top-left to bottom-right with clear flatter region in the middle
- white dwarf region in bottom-left corner with part of it in line with 'white' label on x-axis
- red giant region in top-right corner with part of it in line with 'red' label on x-axis
- absolute +5: main sequence
Accept:
- temperature for x-axis
Marking guidance:
- Absolute magnitude scale goes from +15 to -5 in regular intervals.
