Edexcel IGCSE Chemistry Graphical and Numerical Forms

Practise Edexcel IGCSE Chemistry graphical and numerical forms by reading graph values, drawing guide lines and interpreting trends.

Syllabus
Issue 3 (2024)
Course
Chemistry 4CH1

Exam points

  • Use guide lines on a graph to determine volume, time, rate or another practical value.
  • Use graph data to identify trends, such as conductivity decreasing as acid volume increases.
  • Adjust graph readings for changed conditions, such as double acid concentration.

4A Graphical and numerical forms question 1

[Maximum number: 2]

A student investigates the effect of temperature on the rate of reaction between two solutions, A and B . When the reaction occurs, the mixture turns from colourless to blue.

This is the student's method.
- pour 25 cm325 \mathrm{~cm}^{3} of solution A into a conical flask
- add solution B and measure the temperature of the mixture
- record the time taken for the mixture to turn blue

The student repeats this method at different temperatures.

The table shows the student's results.

Table for Question 4A Graphical and numerical forms question 1 — Edexcel IGCSE Chemistry

Use your graph to determine the time taken for the mixture to turn blue at 55C55^{\circ} \mathrm{C}.

Show your working on the graph.
