Self-reports

Self-reports.

  • Candidates should be able to:.
  • describe the main features of each type of self-report:.
  • questionnaire, including technique (paper and pencil/online) and question format (open and closed questions).
  • interview, including format (structured/unstructured/semi-structured), technique (telephone/face-to- face) and question format (open and closed questions).

This matters because self-reports determines what can be inferred or chosen; begin with the stated conditions and keep the conclusion tied to the evidence.

Example: apply self-reports to one small, clearly defined case, show the key step or comparison, and explain the result in words.

Boundary: Self-reports is not a universal recommendation. Check the syllabus scope, assumptions, units and the limits of the evidence before generalising.
