A communication channel is the route through which information travels, such as an intranet, meeting, email, report, phone or informal network. Channel design affects reach, speed, noise and feedback.
Choose a channel that matches sensitivity, complexity and the people who need to act. Two-way channels help detect misunderstanding and resistance.
A policy change sent only by email may miss workers without regular access; a team briefing plus translated summary can improve reach and interpretation.
A channel can deliver a message without creating shared understanding; feedback must be designed, not assumed.
