• Norilsk (tundra): colder annual temperatures and fewer sunshine hours, especially during the growing season.
• Novosibirsk (taiga): warmer temperatures and generally more sunshine hours during the growing season.
• Precipitation is broadly comparable, so temperature and sunshine are the relevant contrasts for primary productivity.
