IB Chemistry 3.1.6 Oxidation states Questions
IB Chemistry 3.1.6 Oxidation states Questions

IB Chemistry syllabusChemistry SL/HLFirst assessment 2025
Practise assigning oxidation states in ions, acids and coordination species, and stating redox changes in the exact form IB mark schemes accept.
How this is tested
- calculate oxidation states in species such as HNO2, NO2− and Na2CrO4
- identify which formulae contain an atom in the +3 oxidation state, for example FeCl3 and BrF3
- state initial and final oxidation states in a redox change, e.g. nitrogen +2 to 0, using +3 or III rather than 3+
