Researchers want to study whether a capuchin monkey named Rafiki can correctly predict (better than guesswork) whether the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) will go up or down on any given day. In a random sample of 10 days, Rafiki correctly predicted the rise or fall of the DJIA on 7 of the 10 days. (He did this by choosing to eat a banana from either a box with an "up" arrow or a box with a "down" arrow.)
