Edexcel IAL Mathematics assessment structure

Mathematics IAS requires P1 and P2 plus one of M1/S1/D1. Mathematics IAL requires P1–P4 plus one of five specified applied-unit pairs.

Edexcel IAL Mathematics questions

No. Pearson defines approved combinations of pure and application units for IAS and the full International A Level Mathematics pathway.

AS represents the IAS foundation, while A2 contains the additional IA2 pure and application-unit context needed to complete the full IAL pathway.

The IAS and IA2 contexts have different unit and route information, so selecting AS or A2 keeps the syllabus and resource URLs unambiguous.
