Practise histogram questions by using frequency density, class width and area to complete bars or estimate frequencies accurately.
The histogram gives information about the times, in minutes, that some customers spent in a supermarket.

Work out an estimate for the proportion of these customers who spent between 17 minutes and 35 minutes in the supermarket.
One of the customers is selected at random.
Given that this customer had spent more than 30 minutes in the supermarket,
Total area/frequency:
(0.7×10)+(3.4×5)+(1×9)+(2.5×6)+(4.8×15)=120
Area from 17 minutes to 35 minutes:
(1×7)+(2.5×6)+(5×4.8)=46
Estimated proportion:
12046
Final answer:
12046
Accept 0.3833… or 38% or better.
M1 for a correct method to find total area/frequency.
