Practise IB Mathematics SL/HL 2.11 by applying graph transformations methods to exam-style questions.
Consider the function f(x)=ax3+bx2+cx+d, where x∈R and a,b,c,d∈R.
State each of the transformations in the order in which they are applied.
(c) translation through (02),
Note: This can be seen anywhere.
EITHER
a stretch scale factor 21 parallel to the y-axis then a translation through (−40)A2
OR
a translation through (−80) then a stretch scale factor 21 parallel to the y-axis A2
Note: Accept 'shift' for translation, but do not accept 'move'. Accept 'scaling' for 'stretch'.
